In about one month I'm leaving for Svalbard.

Dreadful, cold, dry, polar bear-infested Svalbard!

This year we're a tiny group of four palaeontologists staying in tents (with no shower, no toilet and no Wi-Fi) for 20 [twenty!] days.

All in the name of science!

I'm trying to get myself stoked for the adventures [= challenges, horrors, problems and life-altering experiences].

That is why I made this happy reindeer run around on last year's camping grounds.
